CoreMet Steel

Galvanized Steel Coil Supplier for Bulk & Project Orders

CoreMet Steel supplies hot-dip galvanized steel coils for bulk, project and international orders. Available in commercial, forming and structural grades with multiple zinc coating masses, galvanized coils are supplied for roofing, cladding, roll forming, fabrication, automotive, HVAC and industrial applications, with processing, certification and worldwide delivery available according to project requirements.

The zinc coating provides corrosion protection for applications where coated steel is required for outdoor, humid or demanding service environments.

Applications of Galvanized Rolled Coils

Galvanized rolled steel coils are widely used where corrosion resistance and long service life are required, including:

  • Roofing, cladding, and building components
  • Automotive body panels and structural parts
  • Electrical cabinets and enclosures
  • Agricultural equipment and fencing
  • HVAC ducting and fabricated components

Galvanized Rolled Coil Standards & Coating Specifications

Our galvanized rolled steel coils are supplied in accordance with internationally recognised standards to ensure consistent quality and corrosion protection.

Common standards include:

  • EN 10346 – DX51D+Z, DX52D+Z, DX53D+Z, S280GD+Z, S350GD+Z
  • ASTM A653 / A653M – commercial, forming and structural galvanized grades
  • JIS G3302 – applicable hot-dip galvanized sheet and coil grades

Typical zinc coating mass options include Z100, Z140, Z180, Z275 and Z350, subject to grade, standard and mill capability. Higher coating mass generally provides greater corrosion protection.

Material certification and mill test certificates are available on request.

How Galvanized Steel Coils Are Produced

Galvanized steel coils are typically produced through a hot-dip galvanizing process designed to protect steel from corrosion and extend its service life.

Galvanized steel coil is produced by continuously passing prepared steel strip through a molten zinc bath. Depending on the grade and application, the substrate and processing route are selected to achieve the required mechanical properties, surface quality and coating performance.

After coating, the galvanized steel strip passes through air knives that control the zinc thickness to meet specific coating standards such as Z100, Z180, or Z275. The material is then cooled, treated with surface finishing processes, and recoiled into galvanized steel coils ready for industrial use.

Depending on the application, galvanized steel coils may also undergo additional treatments such as skin-pass rolling, tension leveling, or chemical passivation to improve surface quality and corrosion resistance.

Typical Galvanized Steel Coil Specifications

Galvanized steel coils are supplied in a wide range of sizes to support construction, manufacturing, and fabrication applications.

Compared to cold rolled steel, galvanized rolled coil offers superior corrosion resistance, making it suitable for outdoor and high-humidity environments. Custom sizes and slit-to-width coils can be arranged subject to specification.

Galvanized Rolled Coil FAQ

Can galvanized steel coils be supplied for export?2026-03-06T07:30:32+00:00

Yes. CoreMet Steel supplies galvanized steel coils to customers across the UK, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, providing export documentation, mill test certificates (EN 10204 3.1), and logistics support for international shipments.

What thickness and widths are available for galvanized steel coils?2026-03-06T07:30:37+00:00

Galvanized steel coils are typically supplied in thickness ranges from 0.30 mm to 4.00 mm and widths from 600 mm to 1500 mm, depending on mill production capability and project requirements. Custom slit widths and coil weights can also be arranged.

What zinc coating thickness is available for galvanized steel coils?2026-03-06T07:30:43+00:00

Galvanized steel coils are supplied with different zinc coating weights depending on the required corrosion protection. Common coating specifications include Z100, Z140, Z180, Z275, and Z350, with higher coating weights providing greater durability in outdoor and industrial environments.

What is the difference between galvanized steel coil and cold rolled steel coil?2026-03-06T07:30:50+00:00

Cold rolled steel coils are produced through a rolling process that improves surface finish and dimensional accuracy. Galvanized steel coils are typically cold rolled coils that have been coated with a protective layer of zinc through a hot-dip galvanizing process, providing enhanced corrosion resistance.

What is galvanized steel coil used for?2026-03-06T07:30:57+00:00

Galvanized steel coils are widely used in construction, manufacturing, and fabrication industries where corrosion resistance is required. Common applications include roofing and cladding systems, automotive components, electrical enclosures, HVAC ducting, agricultural equipment, and structural steel components.
